How much does Laravel maintenance cost? Hourly, retainers and fixed plans

What Laravel maintenance covers, how hourly, retainer and fixed monthly pricing compare, and what our $49 plan includes.

Most Laravel apps need the same care each month. Minor updates, a security audit, fast patches, watchful monitoring and a written report. A fixed monthly plan gives you all five for one predictable fee.

In short

  • You pay one flat $49 USD a month for up to 10,000 tracked records.
  • We apply minor updates monthly and ship security patches the same day they release.
  • We watch uptime, queues and errors around the clock and send a written care report each month.
  • Major upgrades, bug fixes and new features are quoted separately before work starts.

The three common models differ in who watches your app and how the invoice behaves.

What maintenance covers and what it leaves out

Monthly care keeps the app you have secure and current. We apply minor Laravel, PHP and package updates each month and test before they ship. We audit security each month and patch the same day a fix releases.

You can run part of this check on your own app today:

composer outdated --direct
composer audit
php artisan about

The first command lists packages with newer versions. The second flags known security issues. The third prints your Laravel and PHP versions. The care plan runs these checks each month and acts on what they find.

Each month you get:

  • Minor Laravel, PHP and package updates each month
  • Security audit each month
  • Security patches the same day they release
  • Uptime, queue and error monitoring around the clock
  • Slow query and performance review each month
  • Written care report each month

New features, bug fixes and major upgrades sit outside the monthly fee. We send an estimate before we fix a bug. We scope and quote new features the same way. Major upgrades such as Laravel 12 to 13 are planned with you and quoted apart from the fee.

Questions to ask a provider

Ask each provider for written answers to:

  • Which updates land each month and who runs the tests
  • How fast security patches ship after release
  • What gets monitored day and night and who responds to alerts
  • What the monthly report contains
  • Which items need separate quotes and how you approve them
  • Whether unused retainer hours roll over

Exact answers show the team has done the work before. Vague answers show they will improvise on your app.

What our plan includes

Our Laravel maintenance plan costs $49 USD a month for apps with up to 10,000 tracked records. There is no hourly billing and no minimum term. You can cancel at any time.

A tracked record is what your app is built around. It is customers in a CRM, users in a client portal, projects in a project tool or students on a learning platform. We count that one thing, not every row in your database.

We care for apps built by other teams on any Laravel version. You can host the app anywhere as long as we have access to deploy and monitor it. If your version no longer gets security fixes we tell you and quote the upgrade. See which Laravel versions are still supported for the dates.

Agencies can resell the plan under their own brand. Our post on reselling maintenance to your clients covers how to price it.

If your app is live and changes are small, start with our Laravel maintenance plan. Tell us what your app tracks, which Laravel and PHP versions it runs and where it is hosted. We will audit the codebase and set up monitoring in the first month.

Frequently asked questions

Is a major Laravel upgrade included in the maintenance plan?

No. Minor and patch releases are included, while major upgrades such as Laravel 12 to 13 are quoted separately through our Laravel upgrade service. We warn you before your version stops receiving security fixes. If you are still on Laravel 11, read what to do now that it is end of life.

What happens if a security patch breaks something?

We test updates before they ship, so breaks are rare. If an update causes a problem, we roll it back first and then agree the fix with you before any billed work starts.

Can I pay hourly instead of joining the plan?

There is no hourly billing on the plan. The invoice is $49 USD each month. If your app needs project work such as features or an upgrade, we quote that separately with a fixed estimate.

Do I have to move my hosting to join the plan?

No. We look after apps wherever they run, as long as we have access to deploy and monitor them. If you would rather hand over the server too, our managed Laravel hosting starts from $99 a month with the care plan included.
